How to get around Boulder and to Denver cheaply — including how to get 50% off all RTD buses.

🚌 Getting to Denver — Flatiron Flyer
BOULDER ↔ DENVER IN ~1 HOUR

Flatiron Flyer Express Bus

Routes:FF1 and FF2 — both connect downtown Boulder to Denver's Union Station
Travel Time:Roughly 1 hour each way depending on stops and traffic
Cost:Same price as a standard RTD local bus ride — very affordable, and half price with the LiVE card (see below)
Catch It At:Downtown Boulder Transit Center — 14th & Walnut St (also where you can get quarters for laundry)
Drops Off At:Denver Union Station — walk or transfer from there to any Denver resource
💡 Tip: If you need Denver resources (St. Francis Center, Denver Rescue Mission, day labor), the FF1/FF2 is your lifeline. Check the RTD schedule online before you go so you know return times.

Where to Apply:Boulder County DHS — 3460 Broadway, Boulder
Who Qualifies:People receiving Medicaid, SNAP/EBT, SSI, or with income at or below 150% of the federal poverty level
What You Get:50% off all RTD bus and rail fare, including the Flatiron Flyer to Denver

If you're already getting EBT or Medicaid, you almost certainly qualify. This card makes a real difference — getting to Denver for resources becomes much more feasible.

Downtown Boulder Transit Center
14th & Walnut St — Main hub for all Boulder buses. Also the spot for getting quarters for laundry at the ticket machines or teller window.
All Roads Shelter
4869 N. Broadway — Multiple bus routes serve N. Broadway. Ask the driver or RTD trip planner for the closest stop.
DHS / Boulder County Public Health
3460–3450 Broadway — Close together. Take any Broadway-corridor bus and look for the county offices cluster.
Denver Union Station (Flyer drop-off)
1701 Wynkoop St, Denver — From here, St. Francis Center is about 10 min walk. The 16th Street MallRide (free) can take you further downtown.
